Nice to meet you!

​​Hello! I'm Joshi (a.k.a. Jessica), and I've had had a love of storytelling ever since I was young. My professional experience as a narrative designer and writer began in 2020 at various indie game studios while I was a student in Sheridan College's Bachelor of Game Design program (graduated with Honours in 2021). I am currently a narrative designer on Overwatch 2 at Blizzard Entertainment.

I draw inspiration from my hobbies, my visual arts & musical training, and my experiences living between Western and Eastern culture as a 2nd generation Chinese Canadian. I believe with all my heart that games, fiction, and stories are our path forward to connecting with others, and more importantly, ourselves.

 

I like to keep busy in my down time — you'll find me singing, drawing, playing piano and guitar, travelling, cosplaying, and collecting official merchandise from my favourite franchises. I sometimes livestream my hobbies as well and have been doing so since 2021. I am currently also pursuing a Bachelor in East Asian Studies as a part time student at York University, where I aim to specialize in localization — I hope to strengthen my understanding of Mandarin and Japanese and broaden my connection with my East Asian roots along the way.

My favourite games include the Ace Attorney series (逆転裁判), Persona 5, Yakuza 0, and Judgment (RGG series spinoff). Aside from games, some of my other inspirations include Charisma (カリスマ), Link Click (时光代理人), 91 Days, Bungou Stray Dogs, Assassination Classroom, Chihayafuru, Jojo's Bizzarre Adventure, Haikyu!!, Promare, Heaven's Official Blessing (天官赐福), and various Vocaloid music/music videos such as Kagerou Project.
